Documentation Required for e-visa Application:
Previously, obtaining an Indian visa required meeting strict conditions. The introduction of the e-Visa has simplified and streamlined this process significantly. Applicants need to complete the application form accurately and upload the necessary documents online, depending on the visa type. Below are the required documents for different types of e-Visas:
E-Tourist Visa Requirements:
- Scanned copy of the passport details page showing the applicant’s photo and information clearly.
- If attending a short-term course, a scanned letter from the educational institute on its official letterhead.
- For short-term voluntary work, a scanned letter from the hosting organization.
E-Business Visa Requirements:
- Scanned copy of the passport details page showing the applicant’s photo and information clearly.
- Scanned copy of the applicant’s business card.
- An optional letter or invitation from the Indian company with which business is intended.
E-Medical Visa Requirements:
- Scanned copy of the passport details page showing the applicant’s photo and information clearly.
- A letter from the Indian hospital on official letterhead specifying the doctor’s recommended date for admission.
E-Conference Visa Requirements:
- Scanned copy of the passport details page showing the applicant’s photo and information clearly.
- Scanned copies of the event invitation, political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, and event clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Photograph Requirements:
- The photo must be in JPEG format and between 10 KB to 1 MB in size.
- The width and height should be equal, with a plain white or light-colored background.
- No shadows, borders, or glasses are allowed in the photograph.
Document Upload Guidelines:
- Passport scans should be in PDF format, sized between 10 KB and 300 KB.
- Documents for business or medical purposes must also be in PDF format within the same size range.
- All documents, including business cards and invitation letters, must be in English; otherwise, they will be rejected.
